ADAC Hockenheim Historic – The Jim Clark Revival // The big classic car festival this coming weekend

  • The 21st ADAC Hockenheim Historic kicks off at the Hockenheimring from 8 to 10 May
  • Twelve racing series featuring more than 500 race cars will thrill fans
  • Opel Motorsport will showcase true automotive legends on the pit roof

The countdown is on for the “ADAC Hockenheim Historic – The Jim Clark Revival” from 8 to 10 May 2026. The paddock is bursting at the seams with a dozen racing series featuring more than 500 racing cars from a wide variety of eras and categories. As in previous years, the organisers are expecting widespread public interest over the three days of the 21st edition of this popular classic car event.

The racing series at the ADAC Hockenheim Historic are sure to delight every motorsport fan: Historic Racecar Association, Lurani Trophy, DMV Formula Vau, BOSS GP, Gebhardt Ginetta Nordic Championship, Velom Sportscar Supercup by Interwetten SCC, DRM Revival, Touring Car Golden Era, CLASS 1 Revival, Golden Era Classic Cup, and Raceclub Germany with specials such as races by Team FNT – there is something for every visitor to marvel at and experience.

Opel showcases motorsport icons on the pit roof
As well as the racing cars on the track, there are once again plenty of attractions to marvel at in the paddock. One of these is presented by a car manufacturer that has built up a huge fan base over more than a century – 127 years of motorsport, to be precise – and has a very special historical connection to the Hockenheimring: Opel.

At the ADAC Hockenheim Historic, no fewer than 17 racing and rally cars will be displayed on the pit roof, illustrating the success story of the brand with the lightning bolt: Leading the impressive line-up is the legendary Opel Calibra V6 4×4, in which Manuel Reuter won the ITC title in 1996. The oldest exhibit is a 12 hp racing car from 1903, whilst arguably the most spectacular is the ‘Rak2’ rocket car from 1928. Also on display are other DTM cars, including the 1989 Kadett GSi 16V, the 1991 Omega, Jeroen Bleekemolen’s Astra V8 Coupé and Heinz-Harald Frentzen’s Vectra V8 from the new DTM era starting in 2000. Opel bridges the gap to the modern era with the 281 hp Mokka GSE Rally, which will be used from this season onwards in the world’s first electric rally one-make cup, the ADAC Opel GSE Rally Cup.
Historic Slotracing GP im Kongress-Pavillon
Special exhibition on Jim Clark and slot car racing
The event’s namesake takes centre stage. In honour of two-time Formula 1 World Champion Jim Clark, the Congress Pavilion is, as in previous years, the venue for a special exhibition dedicated to the Scot – who was killed in a Formula 1 race at the Hockenheimring on 7 April 1968 – and his Lotus team. The Historic Slotracing GP will also take place in the Congress Pavilion once again. On Sunday at 12.30 pm, the slot car track is reserved exclusively for young fans.

In addition, various attractions await visitors across the entire Hockenheimring site, including the open paddock, the ADAC Experience Zone with a large brand club area, autograph sessions, exhibitions, and retail and catering stands.

Two motoring events in one weekend – €5 discount for combined ticket holders
For the first major event of the season, two major motoring and motorsport events are joining forces. Visitors to the ADAC Hockenheim Historic and the “BRAZZELTAG” at the Technik-Museum Speyer will receive a €5 discount on a day ticket for the other event on 9 and 10 May upon presentation of their respective admission ticket. The offer is available exclusively at the ticket offices; online discounts are not available.

Fair prices for a special weekend at the racetrack
As always at the ADAC Hockenheim Historic, the pricing is family-friendly: advance tickets for Friday cost €17, day tickets for Saturday and Sunday cost €39 and €34 respectively, and a weekend ticket costs €54. Naturally, these prices include a grandstand seat and access to the paddock. School pupils and students pay half price, whilst children under 14 and wheelchair users enjoy free admission. Tickets for the Boss GP Grid Walk on Saturday are available for 20 euros.
