ADAC is a new partner of the Bosch Hockenheim Historic

  • ADAC is hitting the track and getting involved in historic motorsports for the first time at the Bosch Hockenheim Historic 2023
  • Ten racing series are already scheduled, including three prestigious Masters Historic Racing series taking place for the first time in Hockenheim
  • Next event: 5-7 May 2023

The Bosch Hockenheim Historic – Jim Clark Revival has become one of the largest and most important historic motorsport events in Germany and has long since established itself as a highlight in the calendar of the booming classic car scene. As part of a new partnership, ADAC will be hosting a sporting event for the first time in 2023 during the Bosch Hockenheim Historic at the Hockenheimring. This is a pilot project of the ADAC and marks the association’s very first foray into historic motorsports on a race track.

“We’re delighted to have ADAC on board with their expertise in motorsports. Together, we’ll continue to improve the quality of the event to further boost its popularity amongst racing series, teams and spectators. Especially after the highly successful Bosch Hockenheim Historic this year, we have no intention of simply resting on our laurels, but instead want to exploit the full potential of the event. With ADAC, we have a strong partner on our side to help us realise our goals,” says Jorn Teske, Managing Director of Hockenheim-Ring GmbH.

Started in 2005 in honour of the two-time Scottish Formula 1 world champion Jim Clark, the Bosch Hockenheim Historic is traditionally held in spring and electrifies roughly 500 drivers from all across Europe and tens of thousands of visitors each year. For the 18th edition, to be held from 5-7 May 2023, ten racing series have already signed up and will be presenting a fascinating mix of historic formula, touring, GT and super sports cars. Scheduled to take the start line are racing cars from the following classes: BOSS GP, Lurani Trophy, Historic Formula 2, Historic Racecar Association, Group C Supercup, Touring Cars Golden Era and Raceclub Germany.

Historic F1 of the Masters Racing Legends makes its debut in Hockenheim

The organisers of the Bosch Hockenheim Historic managed to attract three prestigious racing series of the Masters Historic Racing for the upcoming event. This will be their first time appearing in Hockenheim: The Masters Endurance Legends series features a myriad of GT racing cars and prototypes that took the green flag at the most important endurance races from 1995 to the end of 2016. The Masters Gentlemen Drivers & Pre-66 Touring Cars combines two of the most popular Masters series that revisit the glorious days of GT and touring car racing prior to 1966. One special highlight is the Masters Racing Legends series for Formula 1 cars with 3-litre engines from the years 1966 to 1985.

“We are very proud to be able to present the Masters Historic Racing series for the first time in Hockenheim. These top-notch racing series are some of the crowd favourites in the international classic motorsports scene and top off the first-rate on-track programme of the Bosch Hockenheim Historic. A real must for all fans of thrilling motorsports and fascinating racing cars,” says Jochen Nerpel, Managing Director of Hockenheim-Ring GmbH.

A nostalgic and welcoming atmosphere and a diverse support programme are the hallmarks of the Bosch Hockenheim Historic – Jim Clark Revival. Hardly any other event brings fans so close to their heroes of yesteryear and these works of art on four wheels.
