BASF FIRMENCUP 2020 is cancelled

Since the last news with the postponement of the BASF FIRMENCUP 2020 to October, the week before last another decision was made by the German government and the Conference of the Heads of Government of the Federal States with regard to major events under the framework conditions determined by COVID-19. By and large, it provides that major events will remain prohibited until (at least) 31 October 2020.

At the end of May, the organizers of the BASF Company Cup also conducted a survey among all team captains to obtain an opinion on the catch-up date. With a gratifyingly high participation rate, the majority were against participation in the fall.

Last but not least, the organizers concede that when an event of this magnitude is held, the health of the team and of employees and partners cannot be guaranteed without reservation.

These reasons were now decisive factors in the decision on how to proceed: The BASF COMPANY CUP 2020 is cancelled.

A summer without expectant faces at the starting line, without the hustle and bustle of the cheerful teams at the Hockenheimring and in the large Meeting-Point-Area and above all without proud and overjoyed finishers at the finish line, was never imaginable for the organizing team. But with regard to the above mentioned points it is convinced to have made the right decision for all involved and thanks very much for the understanding, trust and patience so far.
