ADAC GT Masters will get 2020 season under way at Lausitzring

  • Lausitzring marks start of season – 30th July/1st August
  • Comprehensive hygiene measures in place to protect all concerned
  • Final round at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, 6th-8th November

Munich: The ADAC GT Masters will start the season at the Lausitzring on the weekend of 30th July/1st August when the first of seven race meetings planned for 2020 gets underway on the race track in Brandenburg/Germany. The races at the Lausitzring and at all other events on this year’s calendar will meet the requirements of strict social-distancing and hygiene rules that have been developed by the ADAC in conjunction with organisers and race track operators and are currently awaiting approval by the authorities. The Lausitzring season opener replaces the race weekend at Autodrom Most. Travel restrictions are still in place in the Czech Republic, so the ADAC and the event organisers at the Most racetrack have reluctantly decided to forgo this year´s Czech meeting.

The 2020 season finale will take place from 6th to 8th November at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. The dates for the ADAC GT Masters races there have been changed in order to avoid a clash with the 24 Hours of Spa. The races at the Circuit Zandvoort in the Netherlands will be held 30th October/November 1st, one week before the final round, as there is a ban on events in the Netherlands taking place before the end of August. Tickets already purchased will remain valid for the new dates. The schedule for the races at the Nürburgring, Hockenheimring, Sachsenring and Red Bull Ring remains unchanged.

Ticket sales for the Lausitzring round have not started for now. . As regards to the races at the Nürburgring, which are affected by the current ban on major public events, the ADAC is working with the circuit managers to determine whether and under what conditions fans will get the chance to watch racing live at the track. All tickets for Autodrom Most purchased through ADAC GT Masters ticket partner, Etix, will be automatically refunded in the next few days. Ticket holders affected by changes of dates who want to exchange or return tickets should contact the booking office that they bought them from.

The ADAC TCR Germany will form part of the ADAC GT Masters support programme at all seven race weekends. The ADAC GT4 Germany will also racing at all events from the Nürburgring onwards. The ADAC Formula 4 will help the ADAC GT Masters get the season started at the Lausitzring and will be part of the support programme at all race meetings with the exception of the Sachsenring. An announcement will be made in due course about when the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany will be joining the ADAC GT Masters for race weekends.
