The 20th edition of the ‘ADAC Hockenheim Historic – The Jim Clark Revival’ this coming weekend will naturally also focus on the action on the 4.5-kilometre Grand Prix circuit. More than 500 participants with their fascinating cars in eleven racing series will make the hearts of every motorsport fan beat faster. Whether formula cars, sports cars, GT cars or touring cars – there is something for everyone here. Nowhere else can spectators get closer to the cars and drivers. Motorsport to see, touch, hear, smell and taste – for all the senses.
But it’s not just on the racetrack that spectators will find plenty to do – there will also be plenty of attractions throughout the weekend for those who want to take a short break between the racing action.
Special exhibitions and much more
The Congress Pavilion will host an exclusive special exhibition with numerous original exhibits relating to Jim Clark and Team Lotus. The Historic Slotcar Grand Prix will also be held here. On Sunday from 12 noon, the huge slot car track will be reserved for young visitors to show off their slot car racing talent. Audi fans can also look forward to a special attraction. At the ‘Audi Sport racing legends’ stand, a number of exhibits from the successful racing history of the brand with the four rings will be on display.
The pit roof will once again be transformed into a multifaceted experience area: visitors will be presented with numerous stands and exhibitions over 4,000 square metres – from formula cars, including a modern Red Bull F1 car, to the Freunde historischer Fahrzeuge Wiesloch e.V. and Hockenheim Classics, to the legendary NitrOlympX, Europe’s largest drag racing event. The programme is complemented by impressive picture exhibitions, autograph sessions, a Kids Club and a spacious chill-out area that invites visitors to linger.
And anyone strolling through the paddock is sure to bump into one or two big names from the world of motorsport. Autograph and photo requests are traditionally fulfilled.
Numerous attractions in the ADAC Erlebniswelt
On Saturday and Sunday, the action area at the east grandstand will be the meeting point for numerous brand clubs and the ADAC World of Experience will delight young and old alike with a variety of attractions and hands-on activities. Hundreds of vehicles will be on display in the brand club area, including many classic models from the ADAC corporate clubs – the ideal backdrop for petrolheads. Clubs such as Mercedes-Benz, MG, Porsche and many more are represented.
The ‘Iron Schöckl’ of the Unimog-Club Gaggenau, on which off-road driving with a gradient of up to 100 % is possible, provides action. Visitors can also go e-karting, compete in the Formula 1 simulator or experience a car rollover up close in the ADAC rollover simulator. Action awaits the youngest on the Bobby Car track. The moving short documentary ‘The Last Race of a Star’ by Marten Taege about Jim Clark’s tragic accident at the Hockenheimring in 1968 will be shown in a small ‘cinema’. Visitors can round off the Saturday in a cosy atmosphere at the get-together with live music. Shuttle buses will provide a comfortable transfer between the paddock and the ADAC Erlebniswelt.
