In the infamous Sachs Curve, 40 professional drift teams will compete against each other in the Drift Challenge in front of thousands of spectators. At the same time, festival visitors can take a seat in one of the many drift taxis on the east grandstand. Thrills are guaranteed. Those who want to burn off their tyres themselves can do so in the free ‘Burnout Area’. Whether it’s a scooter, quad bike or V8-powered everyday racer, here you can spin in circles and push your tyres to the limit. The dynamometer in the paddock will provide another show-stopping attraction.
In addition to the high-speed drift battles with live moderation and TV broadcasting, visitors can also look forward to two live rock bands and the ‘Legends Drive’ twice a day on the inner grandstand at the Sachs curve. Here, 20 legendary vehicles will do show laps and present themselves to the visitors. Families and younger guests in particular will get their money’s worth in the extensive food mile, at dozens of dealer and exhibitor stands and not least with two large bouncy castles.
Cars as far as the eye can see
Last but not least, the centrepiece of the festival is the 1,000 or so vehicles on display on Saturday and Sunday on the start-finish straight, in the pit lane, the pits and in the paddock. The range of cars on display extends from the 1950s to brand new models. It doesn’t matter whether the automobile treasure is preserved in its original condition or has been extensively rebuilt. It is the colourful mix that makes the event so appealing for every petrolhead.
