The big showdown is imminent. From 26 to 28 September, the International German Motorcycle Championship (IDM) will make a guest appearance at the Hockenheimring for the grand finale. The explosive thing is: The title fight is still completely open in all three IDM classes. And it will be a hair’s breadth decision as to who can be celebrated as the new champion at the end of the day. Four other Cup racing classes in the supporting programme, the ADAC Junior Cup, the Pro Superstock 1000 Cup, the Twin Cup and the Belgian WBB Challenge championship, will provide further excitement. Plenty of action with racing at the highest sporting level, an atmosphere right up to the limit and charming offers off the track give the top event a very special flavour.<\/p>\n

IDM Superbike: Lukas Tulovic only needs nine points<\/strong>
\nWho will win the title next weekend? Every lap, every overtaking attempt and every manoeuvre can make the difference between triumph and defeat. 3.692 kilometres per lap await the riders at the Motodrom in Baden.<\/p>\n

In the top class IDM Superbike, where the world’s elite are now making more and more frequent appearances, the decision will be made between Lukas Tulovic (Triple M Racing Ducati Frankfurt) and Florian Alt (Holzhauer Racing Promotion), although Alt’s chances as the only Honda rider in the field are more theoretical. However, the 29-year-old says: “It’s quite curious. There has never been a real title fight between us. We haven’t fought a single duel with each other.”<\/p>\n

Tulovic leads the championship on the Ducati Panigale V4R with a 41-point advantage over second-placed Alt and hopes to secure the title in the first Superbike race on Sunday morning, \u2018then I’ll have less stress at the back.\u2019 He is still nine points short of the big goal. This means that Tulo must finish at least seventh if Alt is to win. He would prefer to shine with a victory in front of the crowd. \u2018For Ducati, the IDM finale is an important event with important people,\u2019 says the rider from Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg. Third place in the overall standings will be decided between Estonian Hannes Soomer and his team-mate Leandro Mercado (Masteroil Alpha Van Zon BMW) from Argentina.<\/p>\n

IDM Supersport: Can Dirk Geiger turn the tables?<\/strong>
\nThings are much closer in the smaller Supersport class. The title favourites Andreas Kofler (Yamalube Motorsport Kofler) and Dirk Geiger (MCA Racing) are separated by just 15 points ahead of the final two races. The 21-year-old Kofler already won the championship last year and is hoping to make the leap into the Supersport World Championship with a second title in a row. \u2018I’ve worked hard for this and I feel extremely fit,\u2019 he tells his opponent. Geiger, who is two years older, is spurred on by the fact that he lost the lead in the championship to Kofler due to a disqualification in Most in the Czech Republic. This must not be the end. Geiger wants to try and turn the result around. Born in Mannheim, he has won five races so far. The Austrian has been victorious four times.<\/p>\n

The Belgian Luca de Vleeschauwer (Track and Trades Wixx Racing) could tip the scales on his Ducati. He has five podium finishes to his name. Currently third overall, he is definitely in a position to be a contender in all calculations. In the IDM Supersport, there will therefore be a race between the Yamaha, Honda and Ducati brands as well as between an Austrian, a German and a Belgian.<\/p>\n

IDM Sportbike: thrills to the max<\/strong>
\nIn the IDM Sportbike, which was newly introduced in 2025, the situation has become extremely tense. A serious calf and shin fracture suffered by Oliver Svendsen (Triumph Germany Racing Team) at a private event turned the championship upside down at the penultimate race. In Assen, the previous leader limped through the paddock and had to stand idly by and watch as his fiercest rival I\u00f1igo Iglesias Bravo (Wematik Racing by RT Motorsports) finished on the podium, leaving the championship completely open again.<\/p>\n

Just three weeks later, Svendsen made an impressive comeback in the saddle of his Triumph Daytona 660 at the N\u00fcrburgring. He started the race weekend level on points with Iglesias. The result of the first race: victory for Iglesias, second place for Svendsen. Svendsen failed to score in the second race, but instead of comfortably extending his lead in the standings, Iglesias was stopped by an engine failure. Now the rivals from Spain and Denmark are separated by just five points – and it all comes down to an extremely nerve-wracking finale. The air is burning in Hockenheim.<\/p>\n

Czech rider Petr Svoboda’s (WRP Racing) title chances are largely over. The Aprilia rider crashed at the N\u00fcrburgring, broke his heel and missed both races. This set him back badly. He will not be able to defend his third place in the overall standings against Rick Kooistra (Pearle Gebben Racing) on the Triumph Daytona 660 and Justin H\u00e4nse (Motorradtke GYTR by Penz 13) on the Yamaha R7 in the IDM season finale at Hockenheim due to his injury.<\/p>\n

IDM 2025: Fan walk and test rides<\/strong>
\nThere will also be plenty to see away from the race track at the Motodrom in Baden, from the merchandising stands to test rides of the latest models from various manufacturers such as Ducati, Honda and Kawasaki. It’s best to book the desired date in advance online, bring your motorbike clothing and driving licence and off you go.
\nFor three days, the Hockenheimring will be the epicentre of the IDM – with high tension, passion, racing action at the highest level and unforgettable fan moments.<\/p>\n

Each admission ticket includes an all-round experience and, as the icing on the cake, exclusive access to the paddock and the fan walk in front of the pits. IDM also means: being in the thick of it instead of just being there!<\/p>\n

And all this for 10.00 euros for the Friday ticket, 30.00 euros for Saturday admission and 40.00 euros for Sunday. Clever savings can be made with the weekend ticket for 55.00 euros. It is valid for all days. Admission is free for young people up to the age of 14.<\/p>\n
